Benefits of Essential Oils

There are many great reasons to take baths.  The first is the obvious reason of to get clean. Another is the calming effects of the water. But for me it is a good way to experiment with different types of essential oils and the effects that they have. I find it fascinating that just a few drops of an oil can drastically change a persons mood.

For example,

Lavender oil – is known to be calming in to induce sleep.
Peppermint oil – is known to be cooling which makes it help with sore muscles. It can also be put in shampoo to help with and itchy scalp, and dandruff.IMG_0929
Eucalyptus oil – is known to be a great decongestant, antiseptic and deodorant.
Orange oil and Rose oil – are both known to be antidepressants, aphrodisiacs, and smell great.
Tea tree oil – is good for reducing itching, clearing up infections like ring worm it also helps with athlete’s foot and nail fungus.
Witch hazel – is not an essential oil however I use it in connection with oils because it is known to have healing properties and is able to reduce bruising and help with the healing process. Witch hazel is also used directly on the skin for a great many reasons like to reduce acne, blemishes and inflamed skin from things like sunburns.

Unfortunately, not all oils will work the same way for everyone but for the people that they do work for they are great. However, it is great to make products with essential oils in the attempt to help people in a homeopathic way, I feel like even if only a few people are positively effected by these products then they are a success. I am not sure if these products work the same way for all of my friends and family that I give them to, but I do know that they are always asking for more.
